We are Basque Europeans

Hi friends, We are Basque Europeans …

And we are so happy to meet you through this blog. We study at Laudio ikastola which is a very good school because we have good facilities, very good teachers and a lot of friends, furthermore, most of us feel very close to each other at Laudio Ikastola. We are 51 students, 22 girls and 29 boys, divided into two teams of 26 and 25 students each, sharing interests , knowledge, time and work in a nice atmosphere. At the moment we are learning about European countries and their cultures under the leadership of our teacher of English. As a result of all that, we are getting to know many new things about our home continent, for example we know that Denmark consists of more than 400 islands, and its capital is on one of the islands. We also know that if we want to spend a nice winter holiday and practice winter sports we could go to Austria; or that most of Russia is in Asia, but the capital is in Europe. We know  that in Berlin there were the ruins of a wall that separated Germany in two sides, that in Venice taxi drivers row, that motorways were first  used in Germany, …. and many many other data. We also want to show all you our country, The Basque Country, how beautiful it is: its places, its people, its culture, its language, its traditions, its gastronomy… Did you know that our language, Basque,  is the oldest in Europe? …  We hope you enjoy it.  Don’t be shy and join us on weareeuropelaudioikastola.blogspot.com.es

Some weeks ago we had the visit of a strange creature. We called him “Mr Fromfaraway”. As you can see on the videos, we showed him a bit of our town and school. We know that he had also been to some other countries in Europe, such as Germany and Romania.

The Basque Country, our home country
